Welcome to Thame Sports Club

Thame Sports Club Limited is the non-profit making organisation that manages and promotes the sporting activities available at the Chiltern Grove site. The sports club facilities include 6 tennis courts, 4 of which are synthetic clay and 2 brand new Tiger Turf courts all great for all year round play together with an excellent outdoor bowls green.

The clubhouse provides regular table tennis sessions for all ages and abilities and winter short mat bowls.  The club also hosts a weekly live music class for under-fives, an art group, a whist group and a Visually Impaired Group.  There is a club night most Friday evenings which welcomes visitors looking to come and meet the members and find out how to get involved in the club’s sporting activities.

Members of the Tennis and Bowls Clubs automatically become members of the Sports Club, but anyone can apply to become a Social Member of the Sports Club for a modest subscription.

Over a 12 month period from September 2019 our clubhouse was the subject of a redevelopment programme.  The old clubhouse built in 1924 was demolished and replaced by a new building to provide our community with a modern facility.

The new clubhouse is big enough to seat 80 people, has a fully equipped kitchen, licensed bar, toilets and changing rooms.  Completion was originally expected to be in Spring 2020 but was significantly delayed by the Covid pandemic until October 2020
