Clubhouse Rebuild Project
Our old clubhouse was full of character; however, the original part was built in the 1920’s and in very poor condition, especially the roof and much of the woodwork. Also, because it had hardly any insulation it was expensive to heat during the winter months.
We are now in the midst of an ambitious project to replace it with a modern building.
The new clubhouse has been designed so that the main room is big enough to accommodate indoor mats so that the Bowls Club can join the local winter leagues and offer better facilities to the community such as the toddler groups, the art group, whist club, cribbage and table tennis players who were using the building before this rebuild project got underway. We will also have a smaller side room that can be used for committee meetings and smaller gatherings. Both rooms will have access to our bar. We will also have a fully functioning kitchen.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be around £580,000 and we aim to finish building in the Spring 2020.
Illustrations of how the new Clubhouse will look are in the slideshow on the Home page and photos are being added every week showing progress of the rebuild under the Clubhouse Rebuild tab.
We are actively seeking business sponsorship for this valuable project. If you can help, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
